17 Things I Learned in 2017

Wyoming FFA Reporter Sydnie Eller shared this on her personal Facebook page.  We loved it so much, we asked her if we could blog it and share it with all of you!

1- Take every chance you are given, or else you will always regret the “what if”.
2- Don’t worry about looking crazy. If you are having fun you are at your most beautiful.
3- Use your money for experiences, not things. You’ll remember that concert forever.
4- Don’t regret your mistakes, they are as much of who you are as your successes.
5- Find an escape. Music, art, writing, anything that makes you forget the time.
6- Hold the friends who are honest with you closest. Most people only want to make you happy and won’t help you be your best.
7- Growing up doesn’t mean growing old. Cherish your inner child.
8- As well, don’t try to grow up too fast. In time you will wish you grew up slower.
9- Make time to call your mom and have deep conversations with her. She probably faced very similar problems.
10- The full quote reads “Blood of the covenant is sometimes thicker than the water of the womb.” Family isn’t always those who are related to you. Lean on your family.
11- Study. It may be fun to hang out with friends, but it’s more fun to earn scholarships and not stress about student loans.
12- Everything happens in its own time. Once you pray about an issue you usually can’t do anything else until God shows you what you need.
13- You can admire someone else’s work, but never be jealous of it. You do everything in a way perfectly unique to you.
14- If you don’t want your mom to know about it, you probably shouldn’t be doing it.
15- Someone is always looking up to you, even if you don’t think so. A younger family member, or even a friend who thinks of you as a role model.
16- There is very little that can’t be fixed by dancing around your room by yourself. If anything, it makes you forget about your problems for a while.
17- God would not put a dream in your heart if he didn’t give you all you need to achieve it. Do not give up until you are faced with an absolute “no” or a complete dead end. You can always give it one more try.
