Wyoming FFA Members Receive College Scholarships

CHEYENNE— Sixteen Wyoming FFA members just received help in paying for college, thanks to scholarships from the National FFA Foundation and its sponsors.

Scholarship recipients were as follows:

  • Gage Bartlett, Saratoga FFA received a $1,000 scholarship from AGCO Dealer/Shivley Hardware Company.
  • Derick Buhr, Clear Creek FFA received a $1,000 scholarship from WIX Filters.
  • Austin Butler, Devils Tower FFA, received a $1,000 scholarship from Bunge North America.
  • John Corson, Little Snake River FFA, received a $1,500 scholarship from Built Ford Tough/Cook Ford Inc.
  • Landen Fuller, Torrington/Lingle FFA, received a $1,500 scholarship from America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders/Monsanto Fund.
  • Hunter Galluzzo, High Plains FFA, received a $1,000 scholarship from the National FFA Alumni Association.
  • Kenzie Graves, Pine Bluffs FFA, received a $1,000 scholarship from Built Ford Tough/Spradley Barr Motors Inc.
  • Arian Kimball, Frontier FFA, received a $1,000 scholarship from Built Ford Tough/Spradley Barr Motors Inc.
  • Megan Lovitt, Douglas FFA, received a $1,000 scholarship from Chevy Trucks.
  • Kiley McConnell, Lander FFA, received a $1,000 scholarship from Built Ford Tough/Ford National.
  • Scott McKee, High Plains FFA, received a $1,000 scholarship from Built Ford Tour/Spradley Barr Motors Inc.
  • Gillian Petsch, Burns FFA, received a $1,000 scholarship from Built Ford Tough/Spradley Barr Motors Inc.
  • Faith Pfeifer, Jim Bridger FFA, received a $1,000 scholarship from AGCODealer/Covolo Auto-Farm Service.
  • Morgan Sanchez, Evanston FFA, received a $1,000 scholarship from AGCODealer/Covolo Auto-Farm Service.
  • Colton Sowaards, Burns FFA, received a $1,000 scholarship from Built Ford Tough/Spradley Barr Motors Inc.
  • Matthew Willadsen, Casper FFA, received a $1,000 scholarship from Built Ford Tough/Greiner Ford.

This year, 114 sponsors provided more than $2.5 million to the National FFA Foundation Scholarship program. National FFA received more than 8,800 applications and awarded 1,829 scholarships to assist students in their post-high school educational endeavors.

“Pursuing higher education, whether it be through technical and trade school or college, is an important path to achieving career success,” said Stacy Broda, State FFA Advisor.  “We’re grateful for the National FFA Foundation sponsors who help make higher education a reality for our members.”

The Wyoming FFA Association is part of the National FFA Organization, formerly known as Future Farmers of America.  This youth organization has more than half a million student members nationwide, and more than 2,900 in 54 chapters in Wyoming. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
